Miss Chris is an international educator with more than 20 years teaching experience in instrumental and choral music as well as figure skating. Before coming to Long Beach, Miss Chris, together with her sister, was a well sought after musical act in hotel lounges, clubs and restaurants in Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Africa. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from the California State University Long Beach and manages several After School Music programs in the Long Beach area. Miss Chris teaches chorus, hand bells and guitar at Emerson Parkside Academy and also works with private students. 234 8341

Kevin Miller
Band - Brass

A professional musician and instructor Kevin holds a Master of Music Degree in Trumpet Performance with an emphasis in Musicology from the Bob Cole
Conservatory of Music at the California State University, Long Beach.
A native of Arizona, Kevin has been teaching music for over 14 years. He is experienced in private instruction as well as College level courses. Kevin moved to Long Beach in 2003 and while teaching in several premier music schools around Southern California he developed a holistic teaching style called "The Grammar of Music".
His innovative method focuses not only on playing the musical notes on the page but also on style, structure and rhythm of the musical piece.
Besides his busy teaching schedule Kevin performs with the Golden State Pops Orchestra, Emerald Street Brass, and the Ryan Whitney Band. 552 2469

Michael Reznick
Band - Woodwind

Michael is an educator, performer, and recording artist from Long Beach, California. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Performance from the California State University of Long Beach and is currently pursuing a Single Subject Credential in the Area of Music. As an educator Michael has been teaching music in Elementary, Middle, and High Schools throughout Southern California for several years.
As a musician, Michael has performed at many large venues, including: The Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, The House of Blues in Hollywood, B.B. Kings at Universal City Walk, The Queen Mary, and The Orange County Pavilion Performing Arts Center.
Furthermore, he has shared the stage with the multi-platinum rock group Sugar Ray, Richard Street of the Temptations, Berlin, The English Beat, and Third-Eye Blind. 932 9765

Steve Lorentzen
Guitar - Percussion

Steve is a performing multi-instrumentalist with a true passion for music and teaching.
Holding a Bachelors Degree in Percussion Performance from California State University, Long Beach, Steve started his musical education at the age of five with piano lessons. By the time he reached seventeen Steve performed on drum set, guitar and electric bass with local bands. Besides studying percussion, Steve also immersed himself in learning electronic music, composition, film scoring, and jazz. During his college years Steve co-wrote "Every Day of the Week," a song for the Los Angeles Unified School District emphasizing the importance of eating fruits and vegetables. The song was included on a compilation called "Shake it Up! With fruits and veggies."
Steve currently performs with several groups, teaches percussion at Oxford Academy and teaches privately. 523 4627

Rebecca Lynn
Orchestra – Violin

Rebecca has been performing, recording and teaching music for the past 22 years. A native of Long Beach, Rebecca grew up in a musical family. From an early age she was exposed to American folk songs and contemporary pop/rock including The Carter Family, Johnny Cash, and The Beatles. At age 9, Rebecca started playing violin in her school orchestra. The love of the violin ignited her passion for music.
After graduating from High School Rebecca began her professional career as a musician and singer performing in bar lounges and restaurants. During that time she also attended both Long Beach City College and California State University Long Beach where she joined the symphonic and chamber orchestras. Soon thereafter, Rebecca worked in Avalon, Catalina Island, as a violinist, guitarist, and vocalist performing and recording with several bands. Kendra Springsted

Kendra, a native of Northern California, has been teaching violin for the past five years. She has worked with band, orchestra and color guard at Clark Intermediate School in Clovis, California and with the Wilson Classical High School Orchestra upon coming to Long Beach. Besides furthering her studies in violin performance and music education at the Bob Cole Conservatory at California State University Long Beach and performing with the University Symphony Orchestra, Kendra is currently teaching the orchestras at Rodgers Middle School and Emerson Parkside Academy. Kendra is working towards a career as a professional violinist and conductor. 940 0587

Will Brahm

Will, a native of Portland, Oregon, is currently pursuing his degree in Jazz Guitar Performance at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at the California State University Long Beach. He is a member of the conservatory’s award winning Concert Jazz Orchestra and has performed at the Monterey Jazz Festival on several occasions. Will has also been awarded the prestigious KJAZZ scholarship for three consecutive years. He is a well sought after session musician and plays classical, pop, rock and jazz in a number of ensembles. Furthermore, he has been teaching extensively throughout his High School and College years. 642 9295

Kevin Tison
Choral Accompanist

A native of Louisiana, Kevin earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Northwestern State University of Louisiana, his Master of Music degree in piano performance from Texas Christian University and his Teaching Credentials from the California State University, Long Beach. During his graduate studies, Kevin was the only American selected to perform in the renowned Van Cliburn International Piano Institute in Fort Worth, Texas in 1995.
Prior to teaching high school choral music, Kevin has served as music director of various churches and has worked in the areas of conducting and performance.
Currently, Kevin is the music director of the Fountain Valley High School Choral program. His choirs have consistently earned the highest ratings in competition, performing at state and national festivals.
As a composer and arranger Kevin’s works have been performed by symphony orchestras across America. He has led extensive music tours and has been featured as a solo performer and conductor throughout the world. 366 8943
